FFO: Hard rock with a punk twist; Music that comes drenched with passion and fire
I don’t have anything witty for you right now but a song like “Murphy Brown” from Elliott Rubin really doesn’t need a witty intro to grab your attention as this song speaks for itself.
I have to be honest, I know absolutely nothing about Elliott Rubin but, based on this track and the video that comes with it, I’m going to go ahead and say that this is a solo project which just adds to the magic of “Murphy Brown”. This song is intense, in your face, aggressive but, at the same time, has such a deafening amount of heart behind it that it’s impossible to not fall in love with Elliott when listening to this track. Genre-wise, this song dabbles the line between punk and hard rock. I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of hard rock styled-music and you definitely get that vibe throughout this three minutes long song but I love how Elliott keeps you on your toes with the way he gets into that vibe but quickly turns into something a bit more intense and dirty. It’s a perfect blend of things that shouldn’t really go together but Elliott has nailed it creating a song that will hook and leave you wanting so much more from him.
