Just the name of this song feels a bit threatening. I mean, come on, “World Ender”. It grabs you and pulls you in without a single note being played. Okay, maybe that’s just me but, regardless, I am stoked to dig into this song from German band Run, Melos!
I’ll be honest, this song isn’t as intense as I thought it would be with a title like “World Ender” but it still instantly had me hooked. Run, Melos! is a five piece band with a pop-punk sound that leans ever so slightly more into the punk side of things than pop. There’s a cool edge to everything in this song that you don’t typically get with pop-punk bands. It honestly remind me a bit of something like Iron Chic but it still has a very Taking Back Sunday vibe behind it. Add a furious pace and you are left with a song that will effortlessly breathe a sense of life into you. Run, Melos! is not a new band as they have been around since 2012 and, honestly, “World Ender” is not a new song as it was released three years ago. That being said, this band has something and I definitely plan on spending the rest of my day digging into everything they have out there!
