Pro-tip: If you’re going to yell at someone via e-mail, make sure you have the past e-mails to back it up. Don’t go at someone accusing them of not doing something when you never actually asked for it. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. Okay, clearly I’m a bit set off right now but that’s okay. I’m not going to let it ruin my day and, instead of dwelling on this email that has me set off, I am going to re-set by checking out another new song. This one is “Shelter” from Slow Drag.

“Shelter” is the debut release for Slow Drag. If this single is a sign of what’s to come with this band then I would expect huge things from them in the very near future. The song starts off sweet and delicate before ripping guitars take it into a more alt-rock vibe. The way Slow Drag blends everything from emo to alt-rock throughout this three minute and twenty-second song is brilliant. I say this because you can hear all of the elements so clearly but you can also hear Slow Drag putting their own spin on it. There are moments throughout this song that will make you want to jump up and dance along with other moments that will just make you smile as you sit and listen to it. There were also a few parts that had me feeling a release and angst and aggression that had been building up in me this morning. The most important part of “Shelter” from Slow Drag is that it makes you feel.
