Band names make me laugh and intrigue me at the same time. I always want to know the background on a band name especially if it’s something quirky like All Waffle Trick. Although I don’t have the answer as to how they created their name, I know that I want so much more from this band after hearing their new single “Taking The Long Way”.
Hailing from Denver, Colorado, All Waffle Trick is one of those feel good bands. Their sound is a perfect blend of ska, punk, and everything else fun and upbeat. That vibe and feel is put on display in their song “Taking The Long Way”. I love the way the song starts off slow and steady as if luring you into this band’s world before the full-band sound comes to fruition. It’s almost like they have you trapped by the time the chorus hits and it’s a trap you never want to leave. It’s hard to believe that this is just a three-piece band with the amount of power they hit you with in this track but that’s part of the magic when it comes to All Waffle Trick. Dust off those checkered slip-on Vans and let’s get to dancing on this Tuesday morning!
