Are you in the mood for just a perfectly perfect pop-punk jam? Honestly, I don’t care if you are, I am and that’s why I can’t stop listening to “Evergreen” from Headways on repeat.
This is yet another one of those songs where I was given zero information on the band or song but, after just a couple of seconds, I knew I didn’t need any background. This song is perfectly situated in the pop-punk scene with a slight edge of angst in the vein of Four Year Strong. Although I love the new wave of pop-punk and emo music that seems to be taking over, I adore just good ol’ fashioned nostalgic pop-punk and I feel like Headways gives you that seamlessly with this song. “Evergreen” isn’t a new song as it came out last November and, because of that, I’m willing to bet that Headways isn’t a new band but they absolutely caught my attention with this single and I know that the rest of my day may be lost to the rabbit hole that is Headways.
