I’m not trying to jinx anything here but my day is going super smoothly for the first time in forever. I’m all caught up on my day job and feeling like I’m finally getting ahead on everything else. * knock on wood * I figure I may as well take advantage of this extra time and just blast you with new music so let’s go ahead and talk about “Shut Up and Dance” from shallov.
There’s something about the beginning of this song that instantly pulled me into the world of shallov. The opening of “Shut Up and Dance” is mysterious and almost eerie but has an undeniable sense of talent when it comes to what’s happening and the composition of it. I honestly didn’t know what to expect as this song moved on but, as the vocals came in and matched the same aura of the instrumentation, I could feel myself settle into this song a bit more. Just when I was getting comfortable, everything about this song changed. It’s a lengthy one at five minutes but what’s remarkable about this song is how many moods and vibes that shallov puts into those five minutes. It was as if every time I got comfy, the band switched it up on me. I loved this as it kept me on my toes and engaged. I promise you that just one listen to “Shut Up and Dance” will have you intrigued and wanting so much more from shallov.
