I wasn’t given any information on Broken Factory Windows when I heard “Imposter” for the first time but that didn’t matter. I was instantly hooked. This track is angsty, full of passion, and powerful both lyrically and in the instrumentation. Stylistically, this song is a little Touche Amore, a little Banner Pilot, and a little more straight up punk– basically, it is right up my alley.
There’s something a little midwestern punk about this song but it also has the energy of a SoCal punk band which I found to be absolutely addicting. The intensity in this track can not be understated. You can feel it build and grow throughout the beginning and the way it comes to a head is both perfect and fairly surprising. Wondering how you can feel something and still be surprised by it? You guessed it– that was my way of forcing you to check out this amazing track.
This is a long one at around four and half minutes but it is worth every single second so sit back and just take this genius piece of magic in!
