I’ve spent my morning listening to fairly aggressive music to try and get the blood pumping. Not that I’m moving and grooving, it’s time for a change of pace and I got the perfect change as I hit play on “Tearing Up Inside” from Two Times Shy.
A classic pop-punk track full of heart and infectious jams, Two Times Shy has a very classic pop-punk sound that instantly reminded me of bands like Mayday Parade and The Maine. There’s something so honest and raw about the vocals throughout this track and I love the way the instrumentation (although fairly aggressive when compared to the vocals) really gives the vocals a chance to shine. Lyrically, this song is a bit cliche with being about the love and love lost of a failed relationship. Back in the day, I would have been all over this but, with the status of my current love life, I just could not relate. Typically that’s a deal breaker for me but this song is seriously just so well done and produced that it was easy for me to look past the fact that I couldn’t relate directly to the words taking over my house.
Two Times Shy formed just recently in 2021 but I expect big things from them in the near future. Their new Ep will be out soon but, for now, please sit back and enjoy this single along with “Lonely” and “You and I” (which can be found on most streaming platforms.
