Language means nothing to me when it comes to music. Sure, I’m a lyrics lady but, more so, I am a music lover and when a song is good, it’s just good– it doesn’t matter what country it comes from or what language the words are in. Case in point? “Estos Lodos” from Descantilleos.
Although I would consider my Spanish fairly okay, I found it hard to concentrate hard enough on this track to try and catch phrases or even words. The reason for that is because this is just such a well done track. It’s powerful and anthemic but has a very punk attitude to the overall feel of this song. It’s not an in your face street punk style but it definitely has a sense of angsty to it that I found absolutely addicting. With gang vocals and soaring guitar parts that keep this song moving much quicker than expected, making the ending a bit sudden and unwelcomed to me. I wanted more from this band and plan on digging into more material from them. I urge you to do the same!
