I think it’s safe to assume you all know my thoughts on Blink 182. I mean, just look at the name of this blog (spoiler alert if you never put that together). It’s for that reason and many more that I instantly fell in love with Inconsistent Me’s new track “Tongue Tied”.
Right off the bat, the drums reminded me of Travis Barker’s drumming style and the Blink references just kept going as the song moved on. With two very distinct vocals that intertwine with each other throughout the track, hooky verses and a truly infectious and powerful chorus, this song is a lot like Blink 182 but I stop short of calling this a carbon copy. There’s something fresh about what Inconsistent Me did with this song that keeps it from feeling like a cover or anything like that. Soaring gang vocals that comes in different forms throughout this song really capitalize on the emotional strength of this song. All-in-all this song does lean a bit more poppy than I tend to go for when it comes to my pop-punk but the overall vibe of it and the infectious nature of the chorus makes this a must listen kind of track.
