I’ve never heard of a “friendship that comes with a spare key” but that’s what TwoMinutesHate’s track “Operator, Take Me Home” is about and, after listening to this song no less than a dozen times, I get it and am completely in love with this quartet from Norway.
There’s something fast and in-your-face about this song as a whole but the individual parts of this song come off as cool, calm, and collected. I think that’s thanks to vocalist Sama A Miserée. There’s just something so classically beautiful about her voice that truly conveys the story of this song. With anthemic breaks throughout the song and heartfelt melodies that soar between the catchy choruses, this song has a little bit of everything. If I had to classify this song as just one genre, I guess I would have to call it a pop-punk anthem but please do not take that to mean that this is “just another pop-punk song”. There’s a lot to breakdown within this three minute and forty-five second song and I truly just don’t have the words to properly do so so just take a break from what you’re doing, check out this song, and show this amazing band some love.
