My coworker just brought me some onion rings from Burger King with a side of BBQ sauce. I know it’s not the healthiest of lunches but it is truly bringing me back to life after a hectic morning. Another thing bringing me back to life is the staggering power behind SAME PAINS’ track “palebodypalehart”.
This song is about processing mental illness by envisioning them as an entity. Typically I don’t give away a track right off the bat like this but I feel like this understanding adds a depth to this already amazing track that can not be ignored. The aggression and intensity is so raw and primal that it will make you feel things you thought you had buried under lock and key. It’s incredible what this song can get out of you. I want to say more about this song but, honestly, it’s one of those tracks that is better just experienced rather than described. “palebodypaleheart” is best played at a nearly unbearable volume and behind closed doors so you can really just have a beautiful moment with the track. I’m not sure if that’s what SAME PAINS hoped for for this song but I know it made this a truly powerful listen for me.
