We may be getting our first snow up here in Minneapolis today and it has me feeling all of the cozy vibes. I have laundry going, dinner in the crockpot, and a fresh pot of coffee in front of me. I’m ready to take on the day and get caught up on a million things one of which is sharing more amazing music with you so let’s just get at it!
“Shoelace” from Scooped Up! is the first song I want to share with you today and it’s a perfect way to kick off your Saturday. Pop-punk-perfection is the name of the game with this track. It’s full of fun and youthful vibes while having amazing heart-on-sleeve styled lyrics. A completely DIY band from Milford, Connecticut, I loved how polished this song sounds while still having an undeniable DIY spirit behind it. There’s definitely a nostalgia factor that reigns supreme throughout this track. Honestly, it’s nothing new and you can easily hear influences of Blink 182 and NOFX come through yet this song is just so well done that I feel like it needs your attention. Also, let’s be honest, any band out there doing their own thing deserves your attention so show Scooped Up! some love and get your weekend started off right.
