Girl at the Rock Shows

This week has been rough. I’m not going to lie. My day job has been a bit more demanding and I have been spending more time out in the warehouse fixing mistakes and helping out than I have at my desk. Although it keeps my days fresh and literally keeps me on my feet, it’s become frustrating because all I want to do is check out more music so I’m taking a break between packing orders to check out “Gone Again” from Don Denham & The Cutoffs.

To say that this song is guitar-driven would be an understand. The guitar in this song commands your attention throughout this four minute and twenty second song. It’s honestly dizzying at times yet never becomes to much. Even when the rest of the band comes in, and the guitar takes a backseat, I feel like my ears were just drawn to the flawless tone. Overall, Don Denham & The Cutoffs’ vibe in “Gone Again” is very classic rock inspired but with a twist. Some of that twist is your generic radio-friendly hard rock but it’s also a slight vibe of post-hardcore feelings and almost emo licks. “Gone Again” is definitely a melting pot of sounds and styles which has me absolutely excited about the prospect of diving a bit further into the world of Don Denham & The Cutoffs when I make it back out to the warehouse. Maybe you should join me (in the deep dive of more amazing music from this band, not the warehouse)!
