I shared out “Just Lust” from Milk St. back in March (read it HERE!) but I have quite a few new followers and people looking at this page these days so I figured now is a good of time as any to remind you just how amazing this band is. Sure, “Pixie Cuts and Angel Dust” came out two months ago but maybe you didn’t trust me the first time I told you to check out Milk St. or maybe you didn’t see it. Regardless, I am here this morning to share this amazing track with you!
“Pixie Cuts and Angel Dust” is the fourth track from Milk St.’s newest album ‘V3RMONT!’. It’s a fun little bop that has elements that will remind you of everything from Dollar Signs to AJJ. There’s a folksy vibe in this track but also a very clear nod to punk and the DIY scene. The overall style of this song isn’t perfect but it’s not meant to be. It’s raw and perfectly underproduced as if to make sure you get that down and dirty vibe that Milk St. is trying to give off. At the same time, it’s perfect and I wouldn’t have this song any other way.
Milk St. is from Maine which breaks my heart because that means I can’t just pick up and go to one of their shows but I will say, if they keep producing amazing music like “Pixie Cuts and Angel Dust”, I feel like it’s just a matter of time before they hit the road and can make a stop out here in Minneapolis.
