I introduced you all to Jersey Calling just a week ago. I warned you then that I would be preaching this band for the foreseeable future so, here I am, preaching their new single “Content”. Okay, maybe calling this a “new” single is a bit misleading as this song came out just over a month ago but it’s probably still new to you so let’s just go with it.
“Content” is yet more proof that Jersey Calling has an undeniable sense of power behind their sound. Where as most of the singles I have heard from this band have leaned deep into the pop-punk vein of things, “Content” seems to focus a bit more on a 90s alt-rock vibe which the band definitely nails. Although it definitely has a sense of nostalgia behind the song, “Content” still feels fresh and surprises you with a little grunge inspiration that comes through here and there throughout the two and a half minute long song. Jersey Calling is on my list for obvious reasons but the main one is the way this band genre-jumps without hesitation. Compare this single to “The Thing Life Leaves Behind” (which I just shared out last week) and you will be left confused but in love with Jersey Calling and everything they have to offer.
