I have shared out multiple singles from Jake Knox at this point. Although I try to spread the love and constantly share new-to-me acts to keep things fresh, certain bands and people just really speak to me and Jake Knox is one of them so I’m here to share his new single “Sweater” with you.
Although “Sweater” is a break up song, it has such a catchy bop that it’s hard to keep that in mind as you dance along with this quick two and a half minute track. It’s honestly quite bright and poppy for a break-up song. It isn’t until you start paying attention to the lyrics that you realize the depth of the track but I love that almost hidden heartbreak. Maybe this is a bit too deep but I read it like Jake was trying to move on, be a bit optimistic about the breakup with the infectious beat and hip-hop styled vocals but, again, I may be way out of my lane saying that. Regardless of you relate to the recent break up motif of this song or you just get lost in the infectious energy, “Sweater” will surely be an instant favorite so what are you waiting for?
