I can’t decide what to listen to today. I feel like I get hooked on a band but only for two or three songs before getting bored with it. I’ve been a bit all over the place this morning from my typical nostalgia-fueled pop-punk binge to my more commercialized indie pop jams. Still, nothing is really speaking to me right now so I figured let’s change things completely.
MOFGY’s “Whoop-De-Doo” is definitely different from my normal listen. They have a cool blend of folksy punk with indie pop in there. There are moments throughout this song that reminded me a bit of Laura Jane Grace and others that felt like something the local radio station would playing during an indie pop hour. I loved that blend because it seemed to speak to my soul. It made me feel cozy and warm, gave me a burst of energy, but also helped keep me cool as I glanced over my never-ending to-do list. “Whoop-De-Doo” is honestly a fairly simple song and it’s nothing something that will strike you as powerful at first but just let this song sink in and, by the end of it, I’m sure you will be in love with MOFGY’s unique sound and style.
