I’m really hoping that this song title isn’t a prediction for what’s to come today. Honestly, my morning has been pretty smooth. I got my concert review done for the show last night, am caught up on emails, and my coffee actually tastes good today. I hope I don’t have a moment today where I have to “Brace For Impact” but, if I do, at least I will have this amazing work of art from With Teeth to help get me through.

Really, the subject matter of this song doesn’t have anything to deal with the “Brace For Impact” I am thinking about. Instead, it’s about the difficult task of calling family members out for their, pardon my French, bullshit. You can feel and hear the tension grow throughout this song in such a perfect way. It’s no surprise that the first verse of this song is made from genuine quotes from a lengthy and heated conversation at frontman Dael’s own table. I feel like the fact that these are real words definitely adds a sense of depth to the track but, when even without that, I feel like With Teeth’s distinct and intense brand of post-rock meets punk does the same thing. Whether you’re bracing for the impact of a hellish day or bracing for impact as far as needing to call someone out on their crap, With Teeth has your back and their song “Brace For Impact” will give you both power and a sense of solace during your time of need.
