It had been a hot minute since I’ve seen The Black Moods’ name. I saw them when they opened for The Gin Blossoms in 2019, but really haven’t thought about them much since then. Although they hooked me that night, there’s just so much music out there, and the music ADHD is strong with me, so they are a name that quickly left my mind– until now.
The Black Moods released their new track “I Want Your Love” about a month ago and to say that it hooked me all over again would be an understatement. From the fun “The Dating Game” parody music video to the strength that this song showcases, listening to this song and watching the video had me falling head over heels for this band all over again. I love the fact that, although it’s been years since I’ve really spent time with this band, I was instantly reminded why I loved them. They don’t take themselves too seriously as proven with the quirky and funny music video but, at the same time, their swagger-fueled rock n’ roll is crafted to perfection. They have a classic rock sound with a modern twist that will not only make you want to dance, but also make you smile making “I Want Your Love” the perfect way to kick off your Wednesday.
