For better or for worse, we’ve made it to another Monday so let’s celebrate by checking out “Men With Wagons Pt. 2” from Smooch.
Right off this bat, this track caught me. There is just something fresh and energetic about the opening of this song that draws you in and hooks you. Musically, this is a blend of a lot of things but, most notably, it seems to have a 90s alternative attitude with a more emo/ pop-punk inspired chill vibe. It truly is all over the place and, at times, gets a little muddy with the recording quality and the wall of sound that comes with this song but I really like that about this song. It somehow gave me a sense of energy that I so desperately needed this morning along with a sense of optimism that today may not be a super crappy day with work. Even if things go south today, I know I’ll be okay because I will have “Men With Wagons Pt. 2” all queued up and ready to go to give me that burst of energy and hope.
