Girl at the Rock Shows

I needed a little bit of whimsy and optimism today and, thankfully, that’s exactly what I got from Little Champion’s track “curiosity”.

Right off the bat, the lyrics of this track drew me and and tugged at my heart strings. With a story about growing up, I found myself relating to this song in a deafening way. I mean, there’s even a line about writing music reviews just to get free CDs. That’s exactly why I started this blog if I’m being quite transparent but it quickly turned into a business where, like every other business, time is money and I could no longer do it for free. I still have that same passion but I also have a mortgage and the delicate balance of those things is getting harder and harder for me the more I get into the self-employment world. I feel like “curiosity” made me remember not only how far I’ve come since being a curious little kid, but also how I still have that same passion although it may seem a bit more strained at times. What I’m trying to say is I loved every word of this song from Little Champion. It put a smile on my face while giving me the motivation to keep going with my day regardless of how hard it gets.
