Girl at the Rock Shows

I feel like a lot of bands lately just aren’t putting time or energy into music videos. That’s not the only reason I am madly in love with “Bittersweet” from By Far but it definitely didn’t hurt them!

Let’s start with the video for this song. It’s sweet and simple. Low budget but perfect. You can clearly see this band having fun not only playing the song but also creating this music video from subtle funny faces to the slight smiles on everyone’s face throughout the venue. There’s a passion that comes through this song in general and is really put in the spotlight when you get the video in conjunction with the sound. “Bittersweet” is By Far’s first song as a new band (they are all originally from the band Wilmette) and was written for the daughter of one of the members. Honestly, after hearing this song and reading that description, the heart and soul that comes through on this song is just that much stronger. With nods to the pop-punk and emo scenes of years gone by but a foot firmly placed in a more modern indie-pop-punk vein of things, By Far is clearly poised to take over very very soon so check out “Bittersweet” and hop on the bandwagon that is By Far right now!
