Girl at the Rock Shows

I was hooked within the first few seconds when it comes to Mira Nova’s track “Losing Sleep”. It kicks off with a big-band horn sound and I thought I was going to get a horn heavy ska song but the track quickly shifts into something unpredictable and, with that shift, my love for this band deepened.

This song is truly epic. From those loud horns that kick it off and then continue on throughout the track to the more pop-punk meat and potatoes of the track, this was the perfect song for my Friday morning. Although weekends mean nothing to me since I have no turn off for work, this song had me feeling like it was the weekend in a perfect way. The sense of power and the triumphant mood of this song just had all of my problems melting away with every note. Although I love everything about this song, there’s this part right around the 2:10 mark where you can hear all of the different genres nodded in this song come through. From the ska with the horns to the pop-punk vibe from the guitars– it is just one of those stellar moments that gave me goosebumps instantly. I mean, let’s be honest, I had goosebumps throughout this song just due to how amazing and how unique this song is. So check it out for yourself and make sure to give Mira Nova some love!
