Happy new music Friday, everyone! So many amazing songs are coming out today and I’m going to do my best to share those along with some older tracks that I think you should absolutely spend some time with today. Let’s start with “The Inevitable March of Disco” from The Other Are Dead, Steve.
No, that’s not a typo. This band’s name is literally The Others Are Dead, Steve but don’t let that long band name scare you away. This song is an absolute banger. It starts off with an almost theatrical beginning before the song hits the meat and potatoes of this band’s perfect hard-alt-rock sound. The first band that comes to mind to compare this group to is Schoolyard Heroes but I understand that’s a bit of an obscure reference. The vocals in this song are super smooth and the theatrics of the instrumentation create a super cool vibe and sound but it’s the heavy hitting hooky chorus that really got its claws in me and made this an unforgettable track. With influences that range from metal to rock to alt to Broadway-styled musicals, this song is a twist and turn roller coaster kind of song that is surely to get your Friday started off right.
