I am a ball of anxiety today. My kitten (Dr. Alfie Stray Boiiii Stink Butt) is at the vet to get fixed today and that has me worried. I know it’s a routine procedure but you just never know so I’m constantly looking at my phone just in case the vet calls. On top of that, the Riot Fest line-up is coming out in less than an hour. I know those are two very different things that cause two very different types of anxiety but I am sitting here between the two with a pile of work in front of me and a constant urge to yawn. What I’m saying is that it may be a bit of a rough day and I need some distractions so let’s check out some new music starting with “Letting Go” from North of 64.

This song instantly jumps into a very polished alternative rock sound. Instead of hearing the band settle into the song or sound, it just hits you like a train and doesn’t let up throughout the two minutes and forty-five seconds that this song lasts. Although, at the surface level, this song is just a solid alt-rock song, I loved the fact that I hear some nods to everything from 90’s grunge to pop-punk throughout this song. Those nods are absolutely subtle but they add that little touch of magic to the song that really had me hooked throughout. I really wish I had more to say about “Letting Go” from North of 64 but the fact is that I don’t. This is just one of those super solid tracks that you have to hear for yourself to do it– check this song out and be sure to show North of 64 some love!
