It’s only Wednesday yet somehow it feels like it should be a Friday. Maybe it’s anticipation of my impending trip to Punk Rock Bowling or maybe it’s the fact that work has been insane and I feel like although I’ve been working all day, every day, I just can’t get caught up. Regardless, it has already been a week and, again, it’s Wednesday. Hopefully spending some time with new music today will help fix this mood. Let’s try it out starting with “Ghosts Of The Past” from Life Upon Liars.
Established in 2014 but revamped in 2022, Life Upon Liars has clearly been working on their sound and style and have definitely perfected it with their new single “Ghosts Of The Past” with a blend of metalcore, punk rock, and something a bit more accessible than both of those, this single is all over the place stylistically which keeps the song feeling fresh. The way there is both a clean chorus and an epic breakdown within just thirty seconds of each other is a signature of this song that really stood out to me. I mean, it truly is epic and shows the true drastic versatility of Life Upon Liars. In the song pitch that they sent me, the band claims to put on a “stunning audio and visual performance” and, honestly, after listening to this track a couple of times, I really want to see that live. “Ghosts Of The Past” has an undeniable sense of power behind it that just begs for this song to be witnessed live.
