I will never give up the spooky vibes. I know we are inching closer and closer to Thanksgiving but my heart is still in Halloween mode so seeing a new single from Teenage Halloween come across my desk made me very happy. I was also happy because I already knew I was going to love this. I promise I’m not bias but just a couple of months ago, I shared out “Takeaway” from this band. “Takeaway” was a perfect and brilliant track and my spidey senses were telling me that their new song “Melodrama” wouldn’t be much different.
My spidey senses were right. This song is just as fun and boppy as “Takeaway” but it continues to expand on Teenage Halloween’s unique sound. Sure, you could put these guys into the “skate punk” box of things but there’s so much more to their sound and this song in general. With infectious pop-punk vocals and trashy guitars, everything about this track will just catch you. The music video that goes along with it is just the icing on the cake. It’s funny and real, raw and perfect. It shows random clips of the band just being them and, like the music, you get an undeniable sense of fun from it all. Honestly, after listening to this song and seeing this video, I would give next to anything to just chill with this band for a day.
